Why Leaders WORDS Matter?
Regardless of the position, one holds, and, the specific duties, and group, represented, it is essential, for leaders, to realize, and keep - in - mind, WORDS matter! This applies, whether one is the leader of the free world, a major corporation, small company, membership group, or civic organization. How someone, expresses, himself, and the images, intentions, and impacts, of his rhetoric, often, differentiate, between, the strongest leader, and the rest - of - the - pack! Therefore, if you, are considering, becoming a leader, it is essential to, give yourself, a check - up, from the neck - up, and, evaluate, whether, you are ready, willing, and able, to put, those, you serve and represent, before your personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self - interest. With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, discuss, consider, examine, and review, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, what this means and represents, and why, it matters.
1. Who; what; when; why; weaknesses; worries; worthwhile: How do we know, who, might be able to, become the best leader, possible, and why? What must we demand, of these individuals, and how, should, we analyze, these things, thoroughly? Will the individual proceed, forward, when will he act, and will he be worthwhile, and valuable, representing the specific group, at this point - in - time? We all have weaknesses, but, only, some people, are willing, to address their areas of weakness, rather than let those, control them! When, making a difference, for the better, inspires someone, more than, any worries/ concerns, and he realizes, he must be able to inspire and motivate others, by both, his actions, and words, the probability, of becoming, one of the better leaders, is enhanced!
2. Options; opportunities; opt; optimal/ optimize: How one articulates any message, idea, etc, often, makes a difference, so, isn't it logical, to strategically, consider, one's options, and take advantage of the best opportunities! When, one uses words, to bring people together, for the greater good, and inspires them, towards a meeting - of - the minds, his efforts, generally, are optimal, and he optimizes his service and representation! What would you, opt, to do?
3. Realistic; relevant; reactions; responses; responsibilities; rhetoric: While, a positive, can - do, attitude, is a wise, and necessary approach, one must, also, be realistic, instead of wearing, rose - colored, glasses! Will the rhetoric, be inclusive, and consider, the glass, being, half - full, or, half - empty? Leaders reactions and responses must be honest, relevant, empathetic, and inspirational, if they are, to honor their responsibilities!
4. Delve deeply; discover; deliver; dreams: How one aligns, his constituents, dreams, hopes, etc, must be based upon, delving deeply into the issues, priorities, and possibilities, and aimed, at discovering, the best path forward, and how to articulate the most, motivating message, consistently!
5. Strategy; system; solutions; sustainable; service; strengths; stronger: A thorough evaluation of a group's strengths, and weaknesses, must emphasize, the best way, to make it, more effective, and stronger! This strategic approach, must lead to a quality system, aimed at providing the most viable solutions, both in the short - term/ immediate, as well as in the longer - run!
If you want to lead, realize, your words MATTER! Are you, up to the task?
